Community project: SingPath Meets Google App Engine

It is with great pleasure SG-GTUG would like to introduce our 1st community project - Learn / Teach Google App Engine using SingPath.

Google App Engine (GAE) enables you to build and host web apps on the same systems that power Google applications. App Engine offers fast development and deployment, simple administration, with no need to worry about hardware, patches or backups and effortless scalability.

SingPath is the most FUN way to practice software languages! SingPath provides a platform to those that want to test their programming skills in a competitive and fun environment. There is a range of programming languages that you can test your skills with including Python and Java with many other languages to come. Specialize in one language or show your flexibility and skill by coding in multiple languages.

SingPath Meets Google App Engine

This new 'path' in SingPath has 6 problems completed. This community project is looking to add 20-30 problems asap, hopefully by next week when PyCon 2011 happens. We are looking for a few Google App Engine enthusiasts in Singapore who might want to collaborate on building out this new path. We also need a few people to play the path and consider contributing a problem or two. If you already know Google App Engine that would be great, but if you don't, this could be a great chance to learn. To begin with, you can just look at the Google App Engine tutorial and translate the examples there into Singpath problems. As long as the contributed problems are the kinds of problems that GTUG members would recommend that others play, the problems will be fine.

If you willing to help out, either playing with GAE path in SingPath or contributing problems to SingPath please drop us a mail (contact@sg-gtug.org) asap. We will create a private mailing list and get started right away.

Looking forward to seeing you on board soon :-)
